Following two big road wins in Euroleague our team will have their home debut on the international stage, too. We are hosting Famila Schio from 6 pm on Thursday.
The Italian team made it to the group stage from a really tough qualifying group, in which they eliminated EuroCup-winner Spanish side Valencia and the main French team, Bourges Basket. With the absence of the latter, our club became the oldest member of the competition. They are a powerful squad, which, as a result, knocked out Basket Landes in the first round by forty points, but to make the picture even more blurry, a week after that Landes beat Fenerbahce on the road, while Schio suffered an unexpected loss to Girona on their home court. That also shows that the real power rankings would be tough to determine, so our girls' two victories are even more valuable now. Especially, since we achieved these with an incomplete roster. However, as the staff member also highlighted, they are trying to prepare the squad at hand for the upcoming tasks the best possible way. That has gone perfectly so far! Besides our characteristic good defense we are moving the ball around well on offense, too, and everyone can make valuable contributions to the team's performance. Understandably, our success in recent weeks has boosted our confidence as well, let's hope that we can keep going even with such an incomplete roster.
Our French center Aby Gay also ensured us about being on the right path, and that we are doing everything possible to stay that way, too.
Tickets to the game can be purchased at the venue for 1800 HUF. According to the regulation in effect, entry to the game is only permitted for those in possession of an EU or Hungarian vaccination card, and those under the age of 18 may enter along with a grown-up who has a vaccination card.
