According to the information by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) twenty clubs have enrolled for the 2021/2022 Euroleague Women campaign.
The Draw will take place in Freising, Germany on Thursday 19th August 2021. Clubs with a direct place in ELW: UMMC Ekaterinburg 1st ranked RUS (1)* Basket Landes 1st ranked FRA (2) Fenerbahce 1st ranked TUR (3) CB Avenida 1st ranked ESP (4) Sopron Basket 1st ranked HUN (5) ZVVZ USK Praha 1st ranked CZE (6) VBW Arka Gdynia 1st ranked POL (7) Reyer Venezia 1st ranked ITA (8) TTT Riga 1st ranked LAT (10) Dynamo Kursk 2nd ranked RUS (1) Basket Lattes Montpellier 2nd ranked FRA (2) Galatasaray 2nd ranked TUR (3) Uni Girona CB 2nd ranked ESP (4) MBA Moscow 3rd ranked RUS (1) *Number in brackets shows the position of the National Federation in the 3-year ranking for European Club Competitions The remaining six (6) registered clubs playing in the Qualifiers are: Tango Bourges Basket 3rd ranked FRA (2) Bellona Kayseri Basketbol 10th ranked TUR (3) Valencia Basket 3rd ranked ESP (4) KSC Szekszard 2nd ranked HUN (5) Famila Basket Schio 2nd ranked ITA (8) ACS Sepsi-SIC 1st ranked ROU (12) In order to respect the Regulations for the EuroCup Women and play the ECW Regular Season in two geographical conferences, the six (6) clubs playing ELW Qualifiers will be split according to their geographical proximity to those conferences, therefore already pre-determining the participants of the respective Qualifiers tournaments. One tournament of three (3) clubs will feed into the ECW Conference 1. The clubs are as follows: Bellona Kayseri Basketbol (TUR) KSC Szekszard (HUN) ACS Sepsi-SIC (ROU) The order of games of the tournaments will be determined at the Draw. The other tournament of three (3) clubs will feed into the ECW Conference 2. The clubs are as follows: Tango Bourges Basket (FRA) Famila Basket Schio (ITA) Valencia Basket (ESP) The order of games of the tournaments will be determined at the Draw. All clubs playing in the Qualifiers will be invited in the coming weeks to submit a candidature to host the Qualifiers tournaments which will be played from 21st to 23rd September 2021. The 1st placed clubs of the Qualifiers tournaments will progress to the Regular Season of the ELW. The 2nd and 3rd placed clubs from the Qualifiers tournaments will automatically be seeded for the Regular Season of the EuroCup Women in the respective Conference. - 2021-07-21 |
