We got control early on in the third game of the quarter-final series thanks to Betti and Megan’s baskets. What’s more, after three minutes the scoreboard showed an 11-0 advantage for us, and a minute later came the first away time-out (4th minute 15-0). All bench players came on court after the short talk. Sára made a corner three while also drawing a foul, and then converted the and-one as well. Nearly six minutes into the game the guests managed to score their first points, when Mudra made a lay-up at the end of a fast-break, and a bit later she even made a triple (8th minute 22-5). We ended the period with a 10-2 run which put us in a comfortable lead for the rest of the game (10th minute 32-7).
Betti scored our first points in the second, and then Kata Madár hit one from mid-range, and she was successful again after a made shot by Jeca (14th minute 38-11). In the next few minutes Vasas answered back to our three points with five forcing Dávid Gáspár to call a time-out (41-16). Bach answered back to Tina’s shot with two free throws. The guests managed to keep up with us well in this period of the game, and even though we were unable to increase our lead, they couldn’t come closer to us either, which made Milos pavlovic call his next time-out (17th minute 45-20). Gabby drained a double, followed by a three-point play by Dalma. To end the first half Tina made a double from the paint (20th minute 56-20).
Megan made a basket after Zsófi’s inbound pass from the baseline at the beginning of the second half, and then Jeca hit a triple, while at the other end Salamon made a lay-up. Megan buried a triple from the corner after yet another assist from Zsófi, and then our captain came up with a mid-range jumpshot (23rd minute 66-22). Sára had the chance to make an open three, and our young guard wouldn’t miss, and then Megan scored again completing a three-point play. The guests were able to score off a free throw by Tamara Szerencsés after a long time, to which Gabby answered back with a double at the other end, and then Dóra Hizsnyik and Kata Madár both made two free throws to close the third quarter (30th minute 81-28).
Alíz got the final stage of the game going with a double off a nice spin move, and at the other end Smailbegovic got to shoot two from the foul line. With a basket by Kami each player on our team was able to score in the game, while for Vasas there was only one player who was still to score points (33rd minute 91-30). After an exchange of buckets between Boglárka Bach and betti Határ our center gave Alíz a chance under the basket that she just couldn’t miss, her reward was two points. Our 100th point was scored by Alíz on a fast-break, who then gave Megan an assist forcing Milos Pavlovic to call a time-out (38th minute 103-32). The game came to an end with a triple by Anna Altmann, which meant that every player managed to score in tonight’s game. With our victory we secured a spot in the semi-finals, where we will face off with Diósgyőr (40th minute 107-35).
Dávid Gáspár: Both teams played humbly tonight and in the games before this one. Obviously, Vasas didn't show their true face now, since they are having trouble with injuries. I hope that they can regroup, and will be able to overcome the obstacles that they are about to face. Congratulations to my team as well for giving it a hundred percent, and taking all three games seriously. From now on we will focus on the upcoming challenges, I hope they will end with a result like this one.
Dalma Czukor: We thought that we should perform at a 100% this time again. We were able to do that, and managed to overcome fatigue. We played well, had a chance to practice, everyone scored, it was a joy to play.
Milos Pavlovic: Sopron have suffered two defeats so far this season, one against Lyon, and one against us. All jokes aside, congratulations to them! They never gave us a chance for an open shot, or to think, they showed why they are on such a high level. We have many problems because of injuries, and this game was not what we needed tonight. We will try to regenerate, and focus on our next opponent. Hopefully, we will be able to perform better against PEAC: Good luck to Sopron for the rest of the season!
Kata Madár: Congratulations to Sopron for another win! fatigue really affected us because of the missing players and all the travelling. Our job was even harder this way, but we hope that we were able to pose at least a bit of a challenge to our opponent.

The board of our club has great experience in managing difficulties, but we are facing an especially huge challenge in terms of functioning due to the energy crisis, as well as on a professional level, since Courtney Vandersloot is for now unable to join our team due to personal reasons
Klubunk vezetésének nagy tapasztalata van már a nehézségek menedzselése terén, de most különösen nagy kihívások elé nézünk a működés tekintetében az energia-válság miatt, illetve szakmai vonalon is, miután személyes okok miatt Vandersloot Courtney egyelőre nem tud csatlakozni a keretünkhöz
