Queralt got the game going with a lay-up after getting a steal, and then she added another double afterward (2nd minute 4-0). Then Betti and Mokango exchanged buckets, and a little while later our center was successful from close in again, but Mokango had an answer to that as well. Aleks and Candice kept scoring, and when Yvonne also made a basket and the difference reached double digits László Cziczás called his first time-out in the game (8th minute 14-4). Queralt increased our lead even further after a break, and then Aleks also managed to score. We were in a 6-0 run after the time-out when Mokango came up with a three-point play, to which Candice answered back with two successful free throws setting the score for the first period (10th minute 22-7).
Skoric began the second quarter with two of two from the foul line, and then Amanda made a close double after fighting hard for the ball. With a triple by Aleks from the corner we kept going forward, to which Medgyessy answered back from mid-range. After that Roberto Iniguez decided to call his team to the bench to talk things over (15th minute 27-13). Walker-Kimbrough buried a triple after the short pause, and then Skoric scored for two. DVTK kept scoring, this time Putnina converted an and-one to come closer to us. Candice and Aleks both made doubles which proved to be the final buckets of the first half (20th minute 31-21).
DVTK began the second half with a 3-0 period, to which Queralt answered back with a double. After that Aleks and Betti put four more points on the scoreboard, and then Mokango hit a double. Aleks came up with a triple, and then Queralt converted a double, while Medgyessy split the pair at the line (24th minute 42-27). Walker-Kimbrough made two of two free throws, to which Betti answered back with a lay-up, and then Yvonne added another one – time-out Miskolc (46-29). The talk proved ineffective for the away side, Aleks hit one from downtown after the break to increase our lead to twenty. Szűcs split the pair at the foul line, and then Candice lade a lay-up at the other end. Szűcs made a triple, and so did Amanda to end the quarter (30th minute 55-33).
The final stage of the game began with an over two-minute long scoring drought, which was ended by a free throw from Skoric (33rd minute 55-34). After that Mokango scored from inside the paint, and then Amanda drained a three to get her team going in the period (58-36). However, immediately after that Medgyessy and Mokango were also able to score. Queralt and Mokango exchanged buckets, and then the DVTK center made another double, forcing our next time-out in the game (36th minute 60-44). Yvonne hit a three after the pause, and then Kányási scored five for Miskolc. For the last minutes the only question remaining was the difference, when our youngest players came on court. When the buzzer signalled the end of the game, we became champions for the fifth time in a row (40th minute 67-53).
Roberto Iniguez: I need time to evaluate. I know that it is impossible to be better, but it is very hard to win every game. You need a community like this to do that, and the belief in the coach. It is very difficult to repeat this result. I need 2-3 days to be able to accurately evaluate the season. I am sure that this was the team with the best chemistry I ever had the chance to work with. They believe in me, and in work. If you look around in the most important leagues in Europe, you can see that every team had a couple of losses, not many teams can do a perfect season. You need players like them for that! They are capable of doing that without me, but I couldn't do that without players like them. I don't want to talk about the future today. I know my future, but today I want to enjoy success. I want to talk with the best GM in Europe, Zoltán Török about the future. Then come others!
László Cziczás: I don't feel bad at all, I am proud of our result, we got everything we could out of this season. We deserve the silver medal, I offer this medal to my wife and daughter.
Zsófia Fegyverneky: It is a big thing to get the gold medal in a Hungarian championship as strong as this one with an unbeaten record, we finished a fantastic season yet again. I had trouble with my injury since December, there were times when I couldn't even practice, but our results made it all better for me. It feels good to be a part of this team.
Veronika Kányási: It was a huge experience to make it to the final. Obviously, Sopron stand out of the league, but we tried everything, we gave it all we had. It was an honor, and I'll say it again, a huge experience for us to play in the final against one of Europe's best teams, and although we didn't have a chance to win, we did all we could.
