We have already ensured promotion from the group stage last week against Lille. If we could win on Wednesday from 8.30 pm. against Castors Braine as well, than we would find ourselves among the eight best teams in Euroleague!
The Belgian champion didn't cause any problems for us in November, but we will have a much harder job this time. Our opponent has a 3-8 record, which currently puts them in the seventh place of the group. They are just a single hair behind Lille, and the 6th place in the group, which is a EuroCup Play-off spot, though. What's more they are better than Lille on aggregate, so the only thing to do for them is to get level with them. To be able to do so, they'll have to battle through us, Polkowice and Prague. They were able to beat Prague on the road, which shows that along with the rest of the teams in Euroleague they can be dangerous against anyone. Jelena Milovanovic's drop-out from the rotation didn't break our team, we controlled the game against DVTK, too. The Belgians are a stronger side, of course, and we won't face them in front of our home crowd. Most recently signed Danielle Page has made her first steps together with the team in the past days. Hopefully she will be able to join our system without any problems, and will be a useful member of our team.
Multiple fans have signalled, that they will be present in Brussels. Their presence will boost the girls energy even more. Let's hope that we can reward them with the Euroleague Play-offs!
We asked Tina Jovanovic about her expectations before the game.
Head coach Norbert Székely has announced the roster preparing for the EuroBasket Qualifiers on Monday, and besides Bernadett Határ and Debóra Dubei who have previously played for the team our team's star player Yvonne Turner who also has a Hungarian passport earned a place on the roster, and accepted the entire preparation program without question
